for Mohamed Bouazizi
Find it in the muscling
heart converge on Tahrir
Square: the certainty
this tiger fightdrum, its
cheer defying day from
night. Find it in magic
tens of thousands, swords
of courage out to play,
never far beneath the
shield. Find its echos
close, close in this here
breath. Hear bone sigh, We
are not leaving, each decade
long sigh. Remind patience
of the billion muscles
witness to each unidentified
martyr, each unmapped
bullet, Mohamed’s flowered lung.
Know this rumbling to be
medicine in their rest.
Through this sinking
window, trees blossom
before showing any
leaf and sun reaches to touch
my skin, whisper Believe this
day to be true, lullaby
what lone fear
resides in this canyon
to trust such beauty in
each brave, brave soul.

TO INVITE ALL OF US TO ACCCESS THE VITALITY of the poetic, I share offerings here freely, in the spirit and practice of abundant generosity and mutual reciprocity. If the spirit moves you, I encourage new and old friends to commune, share this poem, and support as as you are able. The gift of your connection and support in any way will energetically support my livelihood and practice nurturing an ecology of creative aliveness and transformative connection with kindred spirits who dream and make worlds where each and all of us are free.
I also offer letterpress poetry to support our connections with loved ones near and far at no cost, or on a sliding scale. If you have access to steady income and/or wealth and are able and moved to support at higher ranges of the scale, your gift will affirm and uplift the core interdependency undergirding our generosity-based economics.
YOU CAN JOIN US by sending gifts of energetic and financial support through old-fashioned mail to me at PO Box 91809, East Point, GA 30344 or by clicking above now!
